Update on Bicycle Storage Room

In September 2012, we alerted FSH owners and residents that all bicycles in the bicycle storage room must be registered with FSH management. And further that, starting in October 2012, unregistered bicycles were subject to immediate disposal. Here is a link to the original posting: https://fortsumterhouse.org/?p=684

Since then, the building management has been compiling a list of the registered bicycles/owners and placing a yellow tag on any unregistered bicycle. An effort was made to locate the owners of the tagged bicycles and arrange for registration, however there were still a number of tagged bicycles with no known owners. Last week most of the tagged bicycles were donated to a worthy cause and there is now more space in the bicycle room.

In the future, unregistered bicycles will be tagged with a notice to see the building manager. If no contact is made within 6 months time frame, then the bicycle will be considered abandoned and the building manager will dispose of it.

Currently there is 1 tagged (unregistered) bicycle remaining in the bike room. This bicycle has been locked to the bike rack for many months and is subject to disposal. Please see the building manager immediately if you own a black Specialized Hardrock man’s bicycle. If we do not hear from the owner by June 30, 2013, management will cut the lock and dispose of the bicycle.

Thank you to everyone who helped with this effort!
