Swimming Pool
- On several occasions, the floating life line that lays in the water has been left unattached. DHEC rules require that the life line be in place except when someone is swimming laps. If DHEC were to inspect the pool unannounced and found the life line unattached, then they could close the pool. If you unattach the life line for any reason, please remember to reattach it. Thank you!

Building & Grounds
- The Board of Directors has signed a contract to install security cameras and a new FOB entry system. The installation of the new security equipment will begin the week of July 9. More information will be forthcoming soon.
- New entrance mats with the FSH logo have been ordered and are expected to arrive during the week of July 16.
- We learned that building a pergola (or gazebo) to provide shade in the pool area may require an engineer’s drawings and BAR approval (since the structure may be visible from the street). Thus we are postponing any plans to build a pergola until we do a more thorough investigation.
- Some new plants have been planted in the empty ground space on the West side of the building where we removed the wax myrtle trees. There was no expense for a landscape architect and the plants were donated by owners. The FSH staff has filled in the ground spaces with chips, so the area looks better than before. If you have any comments on the appearance of the space, or have suggestions for improvements in the area, please let Joe Yetsko or a board member know.
- The Building and Grounds Committee was offered some chairs on loan to use in the Fort Sumter House lobby. The committee has tentatively accepted the chairs on condition that FSH would not be liable for any damage to the items nor would FSH be asked to pay for them while on loan. Furthermore, if comments and feedback from owners and renters indicate that the furniture on loan is not liked, or is not an appropriate “look” for our lobby, then the items would be returned to the owner. If you have feedback, please contact Joe Yetsko or a board member.
