Notification of Annual Homeowners Meeting October 27, 2014

The Annual Meeting of the Fort Sumter House Association will be held in the lobby on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 6:30 PM.

If you are unable to attend, please complete the enclosed proxy statement naming someone you wish to represent and vote in your place.

**If you will be absent, then your proxy is required to insure a quorum for the meeting.** Proxies should be submitted to the Building Manager prior to the day of the meeting. Your proxy may be mailed, faxed (see number below), hand delivered, or emailed to [email protected].

We will be discussing a proposed amendment to the Master Deed at the annual meeting. The FSHA Master Deed Section 19 currently provides for collection of two (2) months regime fee upon sale (transfer) of an apartment. The proposed amendment is to increase this Transfer Fee from 2 months to 3 months of the annual regime assessment. The Board strongly recommends approval of this amendment which will benefit the Association by helping to defray anticipated future maintenance costs and assessments. A copy of this amendment is attached. The deadline for voting is December 31, 2014.

As indicated previously in the letter dated September 12, 2014, there are two (2) seats on the Board of Directors up for election this year. As of today, the following names have been placed in nomination:

Beau Clowney      Apt 101/102 (incumbent)
Joy Jarvis              Apt 609 (incumbent)
Gordon Strauss    Apt 610

You may use the enclosed ballot to select your preference to fill in the 2 available seats on the board. You may choose from the aforementioned nominees or write in the name of any other valid member of the Association who chooses to run. Please ensure that any write-in candidate is agreeable to serving the two-year term prior to submitting their name.

Ballots and proxies must be submitted before 6:30 PM on October 27, 2014, so that voting results can be tabulated before the end of the Annual Meeting. You can return your ballot by hand, by mail, or by fax (see number below). Any ballot submitted after the 6:30 PM start of the Annual Meeting may be discarded.
