The Annual Meeting of the Fort Sumter House Association will be held in the lobby on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 6:30 PM. We hope all members will attend. If you are unable to attend, please complete the enclosed proxy statement naming someone you wish to represent and vote in your place. **If you will be absent, then your proxy is required to insure a quorum for the meeting.** Proxies should be submitted to the Administrative Manager prior to the day of the meeting. Your proxy may be mailed, faxed (see number below), hand delivered, or emailed to [email protected].
There will be three (3) seats on the Board of Directors up for election this year. Glenn DeBiasi is resigning his position which will leave one year remaining in his term. The 2 year terms of Beth Dixon and Beau Clowney will expire on October 31, 2016. Any owner wishing to place his or her name, or that of another owner, in nomination, should submit name(s) to the Administrative Manager no later than October 17, 2016. Nominees should also submit a brief biography to send to owners.
The makeup of the current Board of Directors includes two members who live in Columbia and Charlotte. They are a great asset to the Board and their contributions are significant. However, it is important to have some Board members that are full time residents to be on-site to sign checks and attend to the daily issues that arise with residents, staff, and the community. In light of this, we would like to encourage full time owners/residents to run for the Board.
