1. Replacement of HVAC System
The FSH Board of Directors has entered into a contract with Cullum Services to replace the Heating and Air Conditioning system equipment. This work will begin by April, 2013 and should be completed before the summer season begins. More details will be sent to all owners shortly. All questions about this project should be directed to Joe Yetsko, our Building Manager (723-0064), or any board member.
2. Plumbing Inspections
Plumbing inspections were performed on all apartments last year. Joe Yetsko and Chris Weiner made notes on any issues for each apartment. Each owner will be notified of any repairs that need to be made in their apartment. It is up to the individual owner to arrange for the repairs. If you want to have a FSH staff member make the repairs, then the work must be done on the employee’s off-hours. For your reference, here is a link to the Rules & Regulations for Engagement of Staff: https://fortsumterhouse.org/?page_id=208
Reminder: FSHA assumes NO liability when owners/residents employ FSH staff to do work in their apartment on the employee’s personal time.
3. Suggestion to Use Email Addresses for FSH Business Correspondence
A suggestion was made to send FSH correspondence via email instead of via the Post Office. We realize that some owners may not have access to email, however if you prefer to have some of your FSHA correspondence delivered via email, please contact our Building Manager, Joe Yetsko, and fill out a form indicating your preference and provide the appropriate email address to use. We will deliver general correspondence to you via email. Note that individual correspondence (like regime billing) will take longer to implement for email delivery.
4. Consideration of Your Neighbors
There have been some complaints about disturbing noises late at night. If you are not comfortable addressing the source of the disturbance in person, please call the guard on duty (723-0064) and request that he go to the apartment in question to ask that the noise stop. The guard should also write this up as an incident in the staff log book so that management is aware of the complaint.
The parking spaces in the Murray and South Battery lots are not assigned. If you are going to be away for any length of time, please be considerate and park your car further away from the building entrances so that others have use of the close-in parking spots while you are away.
5. Change in Staffing
Staff member Joseph McNeil is no longer employed here at Fort Sumter House. We have placed an advertisement for a replacement and are reviewing resumes as they come in.
I lease #308 from Bernard Solomon. Can I be on your email list so that I am aware of things going on at FSH. I want to follow the rules!
Is there a FSH directory?
Jan
Hi Jan,
Yes, you can be on the email list. Contact the building manager to fill out a form, and you will be added to the list. When there is a “general” mailing to go out to everyone, those on the email list will only get the mailing via email (not via the post office). I believe that Joe still sends a printout of news items (posted here on the web) in his billing statements to make sure that those owners/residents without email can get the information.
Note that most updates can be found on this web site. I have just created some posts and made other updates on the site. The rules are listed here also under the Rules & Regs link – see above.
We do not publish a FSH directory due to privacy concerns. You can contact the building manager or any board member for specific information – see the Board Members link above. Let me know if you have more questions! –Beth
